WoW Fishing Leveling Guide

This WoW Fishing Leveling
Guide will show you fastest way how to level
Fishing from 1 to 450.
Fishing can help while you're leveling up your cooking skill
as well, as almost any fish caught can be cooked if you have
the recipe for it.
While fishing, you can fish useful gems, such as pearls,
which are required for leatherworking, blacksmithing and
tailoring. Often these sell for a lot of money in AH, so
fishing can be a good money-maker as well.
This WoW Fishing Leveling Guide will require a lot of
patience and time to build your skill level up to the maximum
level. In the end you will have to catch about 2000 fish to get
from start to finish. I don't recommend trying to do this all
in one sitting... it would drive you crazy!
With recent changes made by Blizzard, you can skill up your
fishing from 1 to 450 in any fishable water. This means you can
stand in Orgrimmar (or any city) all day long and get skillups
on your fishing at the same rate as you would in a higher level
zone. What decides your skillups is the number of successful
catches.

I'll start with a list of equipment you may want to get:
Fishing poles
You need to go buy a fishing pole. After using your initial
Fishing Pole, you can find better ones out there in the world.
As always, you can check the Auction House to see if there are
any for sale.
Bait
Find a merchant who sells bait. You can then use this bait
to raise your fishing skill so that you have an easier time
catching fish. Bait wears off after a period of time, so you
must continue to reapply it. You can buy better bait for higher
bonuses to fishing. You will need Aquadynamic Fish Attractors
for the highest level fishing areas. These can be created by
Engineers.
From level 1 to 75 you will get a skillpoint on pretty much
every successful catch, this will decrease as your skill gets
higher and from 300 to 375 you will need to do more than 10
successful catches for each skill point gained. The following
equation gives a rough estimate:
(Current Fishing Skill - 75) / 25 = Rough number of
successful catches for a skill-up.
Thanks to the recent patches, you no longer
need books to learn the next level of fishing! Not to mention
that you are now able to fish ANYWHERE. Here's
my recommended method:
Easist Method
- You will need to be at least level 10, have The Wrath
of the Lich King expansion, and about 50 gold.
- Buy a basic Fishing Pole. These are sold by many
trade goods vendors and fishing suppliers.
- Travel to Howling Fjord: Horde to Vengeance
Landing, Alliance to Valgarde. At lower level, Horde travel
by zeppelin (from Undercity), Alliance travel by boat (from
Wetlands).
- Find the fishing trainer. For Horde,
Angelina Soren, on the docks next to
the sea, with an umbrella. For Alliance, Byron Welwick, by the water, with an
umbrella, behind the flight master. Learn Apprentice
fishing.
-
Fish open water next to the fishing
trainer. Between the fishing skills below, learn a
new rank from the trainer:
- 50-75: Journeyman.
- 125-150: Expert.
- 200-225: Artisan.
- 275-300: Master.
- 350-375: Grand Master.
- And that's it! Overall, half your catches will be junk
items. But that doesn't matter, because every catch
contributes to improving your skill. Both trainers in the
Howling Fjord are next to water, and train all 6 ranks. So
you won't waste time moving around if you just choose to
fish next to them the entire time.
Thank you for viewing my WoW Fishing Leveling Guide, I hope
you found it useful.
